2012 Goals and Challenges

The first week of 2012 is already been and gone, so it's time for me to set my reading challenges for 2012.

Firstly, the straightforward one - I read 144 books / 45900 pages in 2011, and in 2012 I'm going to aim for 115 books / 50000 pages with a combination of Audiobooks, Paperbooks and E-books.

And of course the more specific challenges.

I'm aiming for 100 books (level: Server) in the 2012 EBook Challenge hosted by Workaday Reads.

I had to sign up the SECOND I saw this one - for Book Chick City's 2012 Zombie Challenge I'm going for the highest level of 4 Chomps: 24 Books.

And last, but definitely not least, is the Around the World in 52 Books Challenge at Goodreads.

What challenges are you setting for yourself or taking part in this year?  Are you participating in any challenges you think might tickle my fancy too?

  1. I'm also doing the Around the World in 52 Books Challenge. I set a personal challenge for myself to read a new release each month. I may have to rethink my Goodreads 2012 challenge in which I indicated that I would read 65 books. Between the 2 I've got going, I've committed to 64, and I'll have 6 of my real life book club selections to read.

  2. It's such a juggling act! I start to get stressed when I fall behind on goals - but I have to learn to just go with the flow!

  4. I see you are reading Theroux's Far North.

I enjoyed the novel, but must admit it was uneven at times.

Considering that it was a National Book Award Finalist, it doesn't seem to have left very deep footprints.
