IMM 7 - The Starvation Edition

IMM is hosted by The Story Siren - drop by and see all the other participating blogs with their overflowing mailboxes! It's a great way to learn about new books coming out and books that you may never heard of before.

So I said in my last IMM that I wouldn't be buying any more books in January.  Do you think I passed the first week?  I did - go me!  Mr. Mastercard has stopped crying and is now just rocking gently back and forth in the corner.

Books for review

A Girl and Her Cat by William D. Collins
Lacuna: Demons of the Void by David Adams
Men Don't Matter by Jayelle Hughes

Audiobooks

I've decided to get back into audiobooks - they are perfect for my daily torture commute.  Now, I didn't BUY these, because I already had saved credits at Audible (yes I know you get credits via membership which costs money, but these were credits from 2011 so it does NOT count).

Eutopia by David Nickle
This Perfect World by Suzanne Bugler
Spider Light by Sarah Rayne
The Things That Keep Us Here by Carla Buckley

Paperbooks

I ordered these before Christmas but only collected them from work this week

Blood Red Road by Moira Young
Stolen by Lucy Christopher

Netgalley (the broke readers best friend!) I went a little request crazy, oops. Well it made me feel better :-D

Ark by Charles McCarry
Invasion by Jon S. Lewis
The Breakup 2.0 by Ilana Gershon
Summer of My German Soldier by Bette Greene
Winter in Wartime by Jan Terlouw
Replication by Jill Williamson
Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt
Crater Lake by Steve Westover
Escaping Titanic by Marybeth Lorbiecki
A Greyhound of a Girl by Roddy Doyle
The Deserter by Peadar O Guilin (didn't realise this was book 2 in a series so I may have to pick up the first one!)
The Peculiars by Maureen Doyle McQuerry
Stellarnet Rebel by J.L. Hinton

  2. I'll be interested in seeing how good Eutopia ends up being. I ran across it a couple weeks ago and thought it looked really interesting (and really weird). I haven't run across an actual copy of it yet, though.

  3. I still feel like a little piggy about my NetGalley requests, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that went on a little spree! Thanks for making me feel better. I was tempted by Replication. Can't wait to see what you think of it and The Greyhound Girl.

  9. Hi!

Great haul this week! I'm glad to see your resolution held... mine didn't! Still, you got a lot of new reads this week so that helps, doesn't it. They all seem interesting, even though I'm not too familiar with them.

I hope you enjoy your books! Happy reading!

  15. I LOVE LOVE Stolen! I was actually just thinking about that book again last night! It really made an impact on me. I read it from the library but I am definitely going to buy a copy of it one of these days. But like you I'm trying not to buy books or only dollar kindle books LOL I also really want to read Blood Red Road. I had that from the library awhile go but just didn't get to it in time. But I definitely will one of these days soon.

  20. I couldn't deal with Saba's (the MC) manner of speaking when I tried to read the print version of Blood Red Road, but now I'm listening to the audio version and it's great. If you can, you should try to get a copy of the audio. It's very well done!

Thanks for stopping by my IMM!
