Rapture is an award nominee!

Rapture was one of my favourite books of 2011.  Written by New Zealand author Phillip W. Simpson, it is the story of a half-demon boy, Sam, and his journey to save humanity.  With fall-in-love-with characters, excellent action sequences and a unique story-line, it's a book that still sticks with me and holds pride of place on my bookshelf.

And today I've seen that Rapture has been nominated in the Best Youth Novel category for the 2011 Sir Julius Vogel award from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Association of New Zealand.  You can see all the details HERE.

If you're interested in reading more about Rapture, you can read my review HERE.

A massive congratulations to Phillip on the nomination, and of course I have all my fingers, toes and other appendages crossed!

  1. Yeah, congrats to him. I am going to head over to Goodreads and check out the reviews as well. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I am still wondering how anyone could be only half a demon. lol
