TGIF - Book Vacations

It's FRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY! The weather is getting better, the days are getting longer and summer is just a few weeks away.

TGIF is hosted by GReads and poses a fun, book-related question:

Literary Vacations: If you could take a trip this summer to any place within a fictional book, where would you go? Tell us about your summer dream vacation!

For the past two years my summer vacations have been spending 10 days by the beach, or pool, in a hot country at a posh resort. But my favourite vacations have always been going to a new city and just wandering around for hours on end, looking at old buildings, shops, sights.

And that's why I'd choose Paris for my ultimate vacation this summer - although I've heard it's better in spring! My Parisian passion comes from two books I have read this year: Die for Me and Until I Die by Amy Plum.

Although I had some minor quibbles with the first book, and some larger ones with the second, there's no denying that the setting of the Revenants series is the stuff my dream vacations are made of. From the Eiffel Tower to the Champs-Elysees to the Moulin Rouge - I'd love to spend a week lost in Paris!

Where's your dream book vacation?

  1. Middle Earth. Oz might be a little scary.

  2. I'd want to visit the world of The Tenth Kingdom book. Seeing all the Fairy tale characters in one place would be kinda awesome.

I'd also be interested in seeing Middle Earth especially The Shire and Rivendell.

I'd love to go to Japan - Tokyo and the islands - I love countries that have such polar opposites!
