Showcase Sunday #4

Showcase Sunday is hosted by the fabulous Vicky of Books, Biscuits and Tea and it's all about sharing the books we've received in the last week - bought, begged or borrowed!

Last week I was chatting on Twitter with Christina from A Reader of Fictions (check her blog out, she's awesome!) and we made a pledge that we were not going to request from NetGalley anymore, and instead would use Edelweiss. So like eating a pizza the day before starting a diet, I went and requested a few books .....and ended up with more approvals than I bargained for!

For review (NetGalley)
by Ilsa J. Bick (thanks to Egmont USA)
Confessions of an Angry Girl by Louise Rozett (thanks to HarlequinTeen)
Crewel by Gennifer Albin (thanks to Faber and Faber)
Slammed by Colleen Hoover (thanks to Atria Books)
Butter by Erin Jade Lange (thanks to Bloomsbury)

For review (Edelweiss)
Into the Great Silence by Eva Saulitis (thanks to Beacon Press)
The Promise of Stardust by Priscille Sibley (thanks to William Morrow)

Purchases (because I can)
Jack and Rochelle by Jack Sutin
So Much to Tell You by John Marsden

You know the deal, link me up, I want to see your goodies!

  1. So Much to Tell You sounds fantastic! It seems to be my kinda book. But why is it so short? :(

Great haul Kat! I hope you enjoy all your books!

  2. Shadows looks great but I think I'd have to read Ashes first! :-)

  3. I really need to read Slammed! I hear such great things about it.

  4. I've never heard about Edelweiss, is it kinda like NetGalley? I'm curious :)

  5. Ooh awesome! Some great covers there haha :) they always draw me in! I'll definitely have to check these out.

  6. Looks like you're going to be busy reading :-)

  7. Shadows and Crewel look really interesting I'm off to go check them out now :) Enjoy your new books!

  8. Nice haul. I still have to read Ashes before I can read Shadows. Great haul. Come visit me as well.

  9. Awesome selection! Confessions of an Angry Girl was so good! Crewel looks awesome too, I hope you enjoy them all :)

  10. Great bookhaul! Looking forward to reading some of those books myself. Is Edelweiss supposed to be better, or is there something about Netgalley I've not cotton on to yet?

  11. I've read Butter, it was weird! And Crewel looks awesome :D

    Happy reading!

    My showcase Sunday.

  12. enjoy all. ooh pretty covers

  13. Love that you went on a last minute requesting spree with NetGalley! I try to stay away as it's just too tempting, and I already have more than enough books to keep me busy....but you found some awesome sounding titles! Enjoy!

    Here are my books.

  14. Amazing books this week! :) I received Crewel too, it looks brilliant, doesn't it? Angry Girl looks good too, I'm dying to read that one! ;P Butter sounds amazing. Happy reading! :) x
    My Showcase Sunday:

  15. I think this is the first book list I saw from your blog where we have books in common! So exciting LOL. I have Crewel too and Butter is so intriguing but I don't think I can read the book. From the reviews I saw, I already feel bad for Butter.

    Happy Sunday!

  16. I'm trying to stick with UK publishers only on NetGalley unless it's something I'm desperate to read. That way it's easier to sort problems out and also reduces the amount of books I'm tempted by! Edelweiss seemed a bit too American based for my liking, I guess I'm lucky enough to get send print books that i don't worry too much about these systems!

  17. Great haul! Angry Girl looks great. Definitely now on my wishlist! :)

    My Showcase Sunday:

  18. great haul this week, many i haven't heard of.

  19. Great haul! I've been hearing a lot of great things about Angry Girl. I hope you enjoy it.

  20. Awwww, thanks girl! I'm running behind on my commenting, obvs.

Seriously, you judged my 2 NG titles! *sits on throne of judgment* I MAY already have approvals for ALL of those but still! :-p
