Bout of Books 6.0 - Goals & Updates

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 7th and runs through Sunday, January 13th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 6.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. -From the Bout of Books 6.0 team.

Yeah, it's back again!  Starting tomorrow, Bout of Books 6.0 is a whole week of having (yet another) excuse to bury myself in a book.

So, what to read?

Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky #1) by Veronica Rossi (e-book) - I'm more than halfway through this one, so I want to finish!
Apocalypse of the Dead (Dead World #2) by Joe McKinney - my first book for an alphabet challenge so I need to get this one done!
Crossed (Matched #2) by Ally Condie
Dust & Decay (Benny Imura #2) by Jonathan Maberry
A Game of Thrones (A Song of Fire and Ice #1) by George R.R. Martin - as I need to actually go to work and do all kinds of grown up stuff this week, I'm not going to finish it, but I'm aiming to get another 200 or so pages read.

And because I'm being organised, my daily wrap-ups will also be posted here:

Day One
Reading Progress: Finished Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky #1) - 93 pages
Continued with Apocalypse of the Dead (Dead World #2) - 50 pages
Went totally off track and started Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky #2) - 17 pages
Total to Date: 1 book finished, 160 pages read.

Day Two
Reading Progress: Continued with Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky #2) (124 pages) and Apocalypse of the Dead (Dead World #2) (30 pages).
Total to date: 1 book finished, 314 pages read.
And now I'm off to bed to get a few more pages in!

Day Three & Four
Ugh, Blogger ate my day three update - RUDE!  So this is a double update.
Reading Progress: Finished Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky #2) (211 pages), continued with Apocalypse of the Dead (Dead World #2) (50 pages) and started Ashen Winter (Ashfall #2) (200 pages).
Total to date: 2 books finished, 775 pages read.
Comments: Ha!  I have gone SO off track!

Day Five
Reading Progress: Finished Ashen Winter (Ashfall #2) (376 pages), started By the Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead (48 pages).
Total to date: 3 books finished, 1,199 pages read.
Comments: Yeah, I could totally have finished A Game of Thrones by now!

Are you joining Bout of Books 6.0 too?

  4. I love Game of Thrones, but I'm all caught up now and the sixth book isn't scheduled to be published for years!

I read By The Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead, and it was good, but disturbing.

Good luck! I'm in it to win it too!

  5. Read GOT last... I think... it's long so it might take up the most amount of time not leaving enough for the other books. Good luck!

    1. There's NO way I'll finish it this week - that life-type thing tends to get in the way. If I can get through 200 pages, I'll be happy!

  7. I hate those grown-up things that get in the way of a read-a-thon. I'm participating too and I should study for all these completely unnecessary exams at the end of January too. Who invented those by the way?
Great selection and if you need to boost - you know where to find me :)

    1. It's so inconvenient. They could just pay me to go there and read, no?

I may need someone to tell me to stop faffing around on the internet and read ;)
