Bout of Books 7.0 Wrap Up

Bout of Books

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 13th and runs through Sunday, May 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 7.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team.

Well it's all over bar the wrap-ups, but this was definitely one of the best Bout of Books that I've participated in.

Highlights of the week:

Participating in two Twitter chats and meeting loads of awesome bloggers.

Discovering loads of blogs through the daily link ups.

Finishing four books - no mean feat considering I'd been in a huge reading slump.

The Final Stats:

Books read: 4 - Matterhorn by Karl Marlantes, The Night Lives On by Walter Lord, OCD Love Story by Corey Ann Haydu & The Program (Program #1) by Suzanne Young

Total pages read: 1685

Next time: I'm going to try starting without a list of books, considering I started this BoB with 7 specific books and only finished one of them!

  1. Well done! 1600+ is a lot of pages. I read 6 books with a total of over 1500 pages (shorter books than yours, obviously). It was good fun. I did one Twitter chat which I enjoyed loads.

I'm definitely joining in again (this was my first time).

    1. 6 books is awesome! I did read a lot of 'parts' of books too. Glad to hear you will be joining in again, they are always loads of fun!

  2. 4 books is awesome! Great job. I joined but I don't seem to get to involved with all the other stuff but reading. Next time I need to spend some time with the bloggers.

    1. Sometimes I'm ultra-social, other times I just read like crazy - last time I think I finished 7 books but didn't do a single Twitter chat. It's whatever works best for you :)

  3. Great job, love! I am with you on not making a list next time. I'm going to pick up whatever book I feel like. :)

I can't wait until the next one!

    1. I thought a list would give me motivation to finish those books I need to read soon, but it didn't work out that way!

The next one should be super - a lot of people will be on breaks from school and able to read up a storm!

  4. If I do BoB again, I'm going to take your suggestion and not start with a list of planned books. I wanted to finish 12 and only finished 2 on my list. I read 4 overall.

    Nice work!

    1. 4 books is great ;)

I've always had a goal list, and sometimes I've been far more successful than other times - freestyling is fun though!

  5. Yay, four books is excellent, and glad you managed to get out of a reading slump! :-) Reading slumps are the worst. Congrats, and hope you had lots of fun!
