Top Ten Tuesday (Twisted) - Series I Wish I Could Finish

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. I heart lists!

I tried to make a list of my Top Ten best/worst series.  And then I realised just how appalling bad I am at finishing them (as documented in my Series Killer post a few months back.  Which I've made almost zero progress on BTW), so I'm twisting this week to Top Ten Series I Wish I Could Finish.

As the World Dies by Rhiannon Frater

Still to read: Siege

Procrasting because: I love this series and I'm a bit scared of the end.  What if I don't like it?!

Benny Imura by Jonathan Maberry

Still to read: Flesh and Bone

Loitering: I really like this series, even if I had a couple of issues with Benny in book one.  But I don't have the last book (yet), so I can't finish it.  Sad times.

Dark Inside by Jeyn Roberts

I've read: Dark Inside
Still to read: Rage Within

Why the lag?  I loved the first boo SO MUCH, I'm scared of book two.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver

I've read: Delirium and Pandemonium
Still to read: Requiem

What's the qualm: I have no excuse.  I could totally finish this within 3 hours....

The Enemy by Charlie Higson

I've read: I'm reading The Enemy right now

Why dilly-dally? Again, no excuse.  But I've started, that's the first step.  Right?!

The Hallowed Ones by Laura Bickle

I've read: The Hallowed Ones
Still to read: The Outside

Suspension: I was waiting for book two to come out.  Then I went on a kinda book-buying ban.  Or I may have ordered it.  This is highly possible.

The Passage by Justin Cronin

I've read: The Passage and The Twelve
Still to read: The City of Mirrors

What's the hold up: Book three is still not released.  Once every two years is not fair!

A Song of Fire and Ice by George R.R. Martin

I've read: None

Stalling because: It's LONGGGGGGGGGGG.  But I would feel so bad ass if I could read the whole lot.

Tomorrow by John Marsden

So why is it on the list: I read it about *ahem* 10 years ago, and I want to re-read the whole series again.  I've re-read the first two at least!

Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

I've read: None
Still to read: Uglies, Pretties, Specials and Extras.

Dawdling because: Other books get ahead in the queue.  Totally legit reason...

Have you finished any of these series?  Should I push any to the top of the pile?

  1. I haven't even STARTED any of these series, so obviously I am just as bad (or worse!) as you when it comes to reading/finishing series. I am actually surprised I made a list of ten for this week's topic, haha.
Sometimes, I refrain from finishing a series because I love it so much that I don't want to finish it because then it will be over *sadface* And then most fo the time, it's because other books get in the way, and I start a whole NEW series which eventually doesn't get finished, either, haha. Too many amazing books out there, obviously!

    1. Anyone who made a list of ten is a hero in my eyes!

I get quite scared about finishing series in case I'm disappointed.

  2. I totally understand what you mean with Rage Within. Dark Inside was one of my favourite books of last year, and I'm petrified that I'm going to end up hating Rage Within. Also, the third book hasn't even had a release date announced, and I'm trying to eek out Rage Within a little longer, because I have a feeling the third book won't be announced for AGES.

  3. I love your twist on this week's topic! I have a ton of unfinished series on my shelves as well. As for GAME OF THRONES, at least by not having started you'll have less time to wait for the next ones than the rest of us :) I'm current with the series and now staving off the inevitable deprivation with the novellas.

    1. You have a very good point! But it will probably take me several years to read the whole lot at this rate LOL

  4. You really need to read Siege its a great book. I still need to finish the majority of your picks or in the case of The Hallowed Ones and Dark Inside start the series altogether.

  5. I used to read nothing but series but then there were just too many. Some were getting disappointing or I was having a hard time remembering them all so I cut most of them out.

I did read The Outside and it make she happy that there are just the two.

    1. SO MANY SERIES. I got really frustrated at one point and started to try and avoid them, but it became impossible.

I don't know why there have to be so many trilogys - I love duologies!

  6. I still haven't finished the Delirium series either...
A Song of Fire And Ice... don't be in a hurry to start it, the 5th book has a freaking cliffhanger and book 6 is supposed to be out in 2016, so start next year maybe? Long books, but totally worth it!

  7. Requiem is horrible.. I'm reading A clash of Kings right now. It's good! The size can be intimidating, but once I start reading it went pretty fast.

    1. I started book one, and then had to move onto some other things - but I could totally see myself tearing through them if I started!

  9. Hint: Don't read Requiem. The open ending is so disappointing. D:
I need to read the Game of Thrones series too! It's scary huge.
Great list & thanks for stopping by my TTT! (:

  10. The only ones of these I've read are The Uglies books and Delirium books. And while I tend not to finish series, I actually have with both of these. Funny of enough I think both of these two series are quite similar but would definitely list Delirium as the better one.
